All order requests must be submitted at least 1 week before your event, and ideally at least 2 weeks before your event for signature and custom designs. We recommend ordering your cake as soon as you know the date that you need it for, since that’s the best way to make sure we can serve you.

We have very limited capacity as this is a one-woman show and dates get booked up quickly, so please check our Availability calendar for sold out days and holiday closures.

Serving Sizes:

Since there can be a wide range of how may slices you can actually cut out of a cake, we have provided the average range. The lower end is what we call "party" sizing where you may be cutting heftier slices. The upper end is the "wedding" sizing, or the size of slice a restaurant would usually serve for an event.

Long story short, if you like big slices (as any sweet tooth would), look at the smaller number in the range for size guidance!

Since a majority of our cake orders are for kids' birthday parties, our most popular flavors are the kid-friendly classics: vanilla confetti, chocolate delight, red velvet and cookies & cream. Some of our more popular specialty flavors (often for the adults and more taste-adventurous kids) are pb&j banana and coconut mango. Our seasonal flavor, which changes every month is usually where we star our most unique flavors for those looking for something extraordinary.

Dietary Restrictions:

Currently, we have a very limited capability to accommodate dietary restrictions. That said, many of our cakes are nut-free, so please ask if you need help choosing. Do keep in mind that we do operate in a facility that processes tree nuts, peanuts, gluten, soy, eggs, and dairy. We are hoping to be able to accommodate more alternative ingredients in the future, so check back in with us.

Vegan (dairy-free) option:

Currently, only our chocolate cake can be made vegan (dairy free), frosted with a buttercream made with Miyoko’s vegan butter (does contain cashews though, so not nut-free) that we can flavor with almost any of our flavor options. Please note if you would like the entire cake to be vegan and list any/all applicable allergies in the comments section.

Basic:

All basic cakes include a special message, beautiful piped borders on the top and bottom edges, and fun celebratory sprinkles. Border color will be the same as the inscription color unless requested otherwise.

Basic cupcakes are topped with beautiful piped frosting and fun sprinkles. Note that if you would like an inscription on your cupcake, the frosting will no longer be piped, but flattened into a smooth surface to accommodate the writing.

Basic Upgrades:

Looking for a little something extra, but not a signature or fully custom design? Choose from our basic upgrade options (scroll to the bottom of our Basic Design page) and mention which upgrade you would like in the design comments section on your order form.

Signature:

Choose from a curated list of preset themes that take all the work out of coming up with a design with our Signature Designs. These can all be further customized with favorite colors, special messages, and additional characters. Currently, we offer unicorn, safari/jungle, dragon, dinosaur, under the sea/mermaid, princess, and superhero as our common kid-friendly party design themes.

Signature cupcakes/cakelets will take some elements of the chosen cake theme since the smaller size limits how much detail can be translated from the larger cake version.

Custom:

Choose the "Custom" option in the Cake Design section on the order form. Then, please use the Design comments section to describe your desired design. In the file upload section, you are welcome to upload any pictures that will help us visualize your idea. We will then work together to bring your vision to life. Please note that we will try our best to accommodate your custom design, but may not always be able to fulfill your exact request.

For example. because we specialize in buttercream decorations, we use very minimal fondant. Thus, 3D figures and other such additions are usually not something we can create. But, we would be happy to try to incorporate your design into a 2D fondant or buttercream "painting" style. Alternatively we could use some of our other 3D type decorations such as wafer paper, piped buttercream, or special candy/cookie toppers to add visual interest and height to your cake.

Also note that all custom order requests must be submitted at least 2 weeks before your event date to ensure we have enough time to finalize your design.

Single-tiered cakes can be picked from my San Carlos home (address will be sent with your order confirmation) or I can personally deliver to your event (see below for delivery fees).

Multi-tiered cakes are for delivery only due to the high risk of damage during transport. We have seen many disasters where beautiful cakes are ruined moments before their debut simply due to shipping and handling mishaps. Therefore, in order to avoid that risk, we will personally deliver your cake to your event in a special box designed specifically to maintain the safety of the cake. This way you can rest easy knowing that your cake will arrive in perfect condition.

If you still prefer to pick up your multi-tiered cake, you may, just know that we are no longer responsible for any damages to the cake during transport.

Delivery Fees:

Single Tier Cakes and Cupcake/Cakelet Orders for delivery within 10 miles of San Carlos - $20

Multi-Tiered Cake Orders for delivery within 10 miles of San Carlos- $35 (includes special handling during delivery and full setup at event)

All orders for delivery to Bay Area cities over 10 miles from San Carlos- above pricing + $2/mile

Pickup/Delivery Time Window:

9am - 6pm

Once you have placed your order, we will send you an order confirmation with your order details, price breakdown, and payment info. Once you have confirmed the details, payment via Venmo or Zelle is due on the date listed in your order confirmation email (typically 5 days before your event) in order to secure your order.

Exceptions can sometimes be made for any accepted last minute order request, in which case the date listed in your order confirmation may be less than 5 days before event date.

If payment is not received by the due date, your order may not be completed in time for your event.

Single tiered cakes, the Mini-sized double tier cake, and cupcakes will be packaged in a typical disposable bakery box.

Unless specifically agreed upon otherwise, all other Multi-tiered cakes will be hand-delivered in a heavy-duty special cake delivery box during transport. We will then help set up your cake for display at your event.

Cakelets are baked into convenient square-shaped tins and come with clear lids and little sporks.

Special Order items will be appropriately packaged accordingly.

All our buttercream cakes can be left out at room temperature if you are to serve it the same day. Otherwise, refrigerate it and bring it out at least 4 hours before serving to allow it to come back to room temperature.

Cakes with cream cheese frosting should be refrigerated until 4 hours before serving.

Do keep in mind that environmental temperature can change how quickly the cake will warm up. So, if it's a 100 degree day and you are having an outdoor party, you may want to lessen the amount of time the cake is out before serving. On the flip side, if it's the middle winter, you may need to leave the cake out for more hours before it will come to room temperature.

Also, please do not ever leave a cake out in direct sunlight, or you risk the frosting melting right off.

As for leftovers, cover any cut portions with parchment paper or plastic wrap and refrigerate. Generally our cakes will last 2-3 days well wrapped in the refrigerator. Remember to give cakes a few hours to come back to room temperature again.

We currently only sell cakes on a sturdy cake board and do NOT provide any cake stands, cupcake stands, candles, cake knives, etc.

Michael’s, Amazon, or your local party supply store is very likely to have the items you need. Most grocery stores will have candles, fun napkins, etc. if you are in a pinch. We are looking into potentially providing these items for sale in the future though!

Editing Order:

If you would like to change any part of your order, we can do so up until 5 days before your event.

Just reply to your order confirmation with your changes and we will respond with how we will accommodate the change and whether it will affect the final price.

We may be able to accommodate small changes (i.e. switching out a color in the design, or changing the inscription, etc.) past the 5 day deadline, but there is no guarantee.

Canceling Order:

If you cancel 5 days before your cake's due date, we will offer you a full refund of your deposit. That means that for a cake due on Friday, we would need your cancellation notice no later than the Sunday before. 

Creating your cake is a multi-day process of ordering inventory, baking, and designing, so if you cancel within 5 days of your event date, you will be charged the full price of the cake.
